Writing Assessment on April 1st, 2025. Please make sure to review this information with your students. There are several important reminders on this paper in regard to Electronic Devices, Testing Rules, Discussion of Test Content after Testing, Leaving Campus during a Test, and Testing Accommodations. Avon Park High Schoolโs 8th Grade Parent Night will take place on April 3, 2025, at 5:30 PM in the APHS Auditorium. The event, themed "Get a Glimpse into the FUTURE," will feature presentations by Principal Mrs. Edsall and Assistant Principals Mrs. Velasquez and Mr. Ballance, along with school counselors discussing 9th-grade class options, scheduling forms, and graduation requirements. Parents and students can also visit meet-and-greet tables for various academic programs, clubs, and extracurricular activities, including AP courses, AVID, JROTC, band, robotics, athletics, and honor societies.


APMS Families: Next Tuesday, April 1st, students will be taking the Florida B.E.S.T. Writing Test. Testing will begin promptly at the first bell. Please ensure that your student(s) arrive on time, eat a good breakfast either at home or school, and bring their chromebook charged and ready to go.
Below are some other important testing dates coming up! Thank you for partnering with us to ensure our students are set up for success!


APMS Families: We will be hosting our Spring Dance on Friday, March 21st, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Commons. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in the mornings in the cafeteria from Mr. Farless or during lunch from Mr. Harden. Students will NOT be authorized to walk home after the dance. Students MUST be picked up by a parent or guardian.
Dress Code: Wear your Sunday Best! There will be No Shorts, No Crocs, and School Dress Code Still Applies
Eligibility: No Referrals between March 5th and March 21st
Pizza, Snacks, and Drinks will be sold during the dance.

Today, students had the opportunity to make sure their school binders were in order! During lunch, โBinder Reconstructionโ took place in the media center. Students could use tape, 3-hole punches, and staplers to get their binders in good shape for tomorrowโs school-wide binder check.

Conditioning for Boy's and Girl's Soccer is underway! Conditioning is every Monday and Wednesday after school until 4:30pm.
Students must have their physical and paperwork uploaded into Home Campus prior to starting conditioning. If you need help doing so, please come up to the school with your completed paperwork.

APMS Families: This week is Celebrate Literacy Week! The theme this year is Building Literacy: Constructing the Foundation for Success! Our dress-up days are below and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow in their construction/neon attire!
